Pain Management with Acupuncture in Parramatta

How does an Acupuncturist deal with Pain?

Pain is an unpleasant physical or emotional sensation. In the Western Medicine pain is considered as an alarm telling us that something is going wrong. In Chinese Medicine, pain indicates a state of imbalance due to a disruption of the energy flow.

We need to check if the pain is acute or chronic and we target its root cause. In a case of severe pain we sedate first, then we address the underlying causes.

In our clinic we use several strategies and techniques to manage the pain. We have learnt over time how to deal with every type of pain and how to choose a treatment approach according to the nature and the location of the pain.

Even when we only focus on treating a physical pain, we are indirectly treating emotional injuries, this is why after the treatments you feel emotionally relieved, lighter and free.

Pain can be felt in any part of the body. All over the body, there are channels of energy running and interconnecting to each other, which give us multiple approaches or choices on how to treat pain.
The energy is meant to be running in the channels all the time, for certain reasons this energy can either become slower or in some cases, it can stop running. In this case the pain occurs due to stuck energy. One of the approaches we use is to treat the affected channel directly. This gives a good and quick result if the pain is acute. When the pain is chronic, we need to investigate at a deeper level, check which organ is affected and treat it.
Acupuncture is increasingly recognized as an effective method for pain management. Just by stimulating specific points on the body, we can restore back the harmony to the body, improve pain relief and overall wellness.
